I had an idea to take a classic new york wedding photo of my fiancee and I. I asked her if she’d meet me at the spot in Prospect Park where I proposed, and had our wedding photographer waiting there, so that when she arrived, we’d have a proper engagement photo taken. But she’s so beautiful, I didn’t want her to fuss over how she looked, so I made sure it was a surprise. I think she’s prettiest when she’s relaxed and comfortable in jeans and a plain shirt, like when we met. It was a huge hit. She was so surprised that she could barely even speak! I think I got major relationship points for this one!

I love to write my own music. I have been writing for a long time, I think it just came naturally to me. I have never struggled with it at all. Sometimes, I write songs about how I feel about issues, and sometimes I have no idea where the stuff comes from. I received free guitar lessons from my Aunt Maria. When she was younger, she used to play in a band. When she got married and had her kids that ended. She thinks I have a lot of talent. I appreciate her telling me that. It gives me confidence. Sometimes I dream about playing in front of people.

When I bought my daughter an mp3 player for her birthday, a good friend of mine suggested that I Download Ares so that I could get all of her music for free. I did download it and put a few of her favorite songs on it before I gave it to her. She now spends hours at a time picking out music to put on her player. She never has a problem finding a song that she wants. Even the newest songs are always available to download. It even has songs from my generation so I am going to get myself an mp3 player!

The economy has caused many newspapers to go bankrupt and out of print.  News agencies are feeling the crunch too and more editors in the industry are relying on the for web photo submissions to compensate for a small or no budget.  To survive in today’s market, photographers have to diversify their photography skills and be willing to except a variety of work.  Contract work in the news industry use to pay the bills, now you need to shoot corporate gigs, portraits and weddings.  If you apply your skills as a photojournalist, your clients will be happy too.

My company recently sent me to a seminar on sales where we watched a photo slideshow promoting new ideas and challenges in today’s market.  I must say, it was much more entertaining that listening to someone ramble on for hours while most in the crowd traditionally would fall asleep.  If you’re planning a group session or seminar of any kind, I highly recommend using a presentation such as this.  You can incorporate photos, graphics and music to keep your audience enlightened and make it fun too.

Although Princess Diana is gone and died at the young age of 36, she still remains larger than life.  Surely the most famous woman in the world, Diana was not only a member of the royal family, her efforts to outlaw landmines was one of her most memorable deeds to humanity.  She once walked through a landmine in Angola and was photographed wearing a battle helmet and flak jacket.  She also was the most photographed person in the world, period.  Her organization of the Ottawa Treaty in 1997, gathered nations together to outlaw anti-personnel land mines.

Some of the best corporate photographers in Chicago have a background in photojournalism.  The photographer we chose to take pictures at a recent event, also had connections to a wire service for press releases photos.  Those images are a pretty tough sell since these events can be pretty uneventful for most news readers.  We did manage to get one image on the wire but I’m not sure if any newspapers picked it up.  All of the photos were great and the candid shots really enhance out company’s web site and marketing books.

We were interested in hiring one or two corporate photographers to take photos of our company and update our web site and marketing materials.  There is definitely no shortage of photographers but finding the right one was very important to us.  We wanted someone with good portrait skills for our VIPs but also a good eye for candid moments.  We were trying to avoid those really gaudy and heavily posed corporate shots too.  Eventually, we settled on a photojournalist with an extensive news photography background.  It was a relief knowing that the person we chose made a living out of taking life’s moments and capturing them with his camera.  The photos look amazing!

I have been an infant school teacher for the past seventeen years and I really love my work, especially around Christmas time when we are planning the children’s Christmas party and also when the kids get to make their own christmas cards to give to their parents and other family members. I usually get the child to make a card for each member of their family and then write something in the card which is personal to that family member. I always enjoy reading what the children have wrote in their cards and it really does make a great end to the year.

My son, Chad, asked me how to learn to play the piano. Now, I knew a little about playing the piano, but I had never considered how to learn to play the piano. So, like any good mom, I said I’d get back to him on that. I called a pianist friend and asked how to get started. She said I didn’t have to buy a piano (good news), but it would be a good idea (not so good news).  Also, Chad should understand that learning piano would take years, not days. That was about it. Getting started was pretty easy. In fact, my friend added Chad to her own list of students, and I get some pretty detailed information on how he’s doing.
